Quality of Place Engineered for High Performance Workers and Designed to Balance Work and Life

The living environment of an area is frequently mentioned as an important factor in a company’s choice of a location for a new or expanded facility, most often in terms of the location’s capability to attract and retain “high performance workers.”  The high performers seek employment and living opportunities where they are more able to “balance work and life.”

The Quad City Region is a place where workers can do just that . . . shorter commute times and easy access to entertainment, shopping, cultural and recreational amenities, state-of-the art medical care and quality schools make the Quad City Region a preferred place to live.  And area employers concur. In the UNI study employers stated they consider the region’s quality of life to be an important factor in their ability to attract and retain quality employees.

The region offers a variety of places to call home . . . from thriving urban districts to scenic Mississippi Riverfront communities to open spaces.  A wide range of housing choices are also available that run the gamut from historic homes to affordable, well-constructed homes in established neighborhoods and new single family and executive-type homes in planned subdivisions to a mix of rental apartments and other rental properties.

Residents in the region have access to exceptional state-of-the-art medical care including services provided by Trinity and Genesis healthcare systems.  The University of Iowa Hospital, the world’s largest university-owned teaching hospital in the U.S., is only 60 miles from the Quad Cities, providing access to a variety of specialized care.

And there’s something for everyone to do, every interest, every age group- from rock concerts to riverboat gambling to symphony and ballet performances to professional sports to art and jazz festivals. The region has many after hours choices.
